NYSSA – A few large Idaho schools joined some eastern Oregon teams on Wednesday, Sept. 13 for the Nyssa Invite.
Timberline, a Boise school, took the team titles in both the girls’ and boys’ races.
For the boys, Nyssa placed third in the team standings with Vale one spot behind in fourth. Four Rivers placed sixth while Grant Union picked up eighth.
Racing against Boise’s top runners, Vale’s Trevor Stewart ended up third, posting a time of 17 minutes, 11.25 seconds after running the 5,000 meters. Four Rivers’ Oliver McDowall was just outside the top ten, finishing 11th and Nyssa senior Spencer Romans placed 14th. For Grant Union, Landon Boyd crossed the line in 34th and Adrian’s Grayson Cleaver placed 37th.
The Vale girls placed third in the team standings, the lone eastern Oregon team to score team points,
The Vikings again had the top individual finish as sophomore Addie Saunders placed eighth, running the course in 22:16.23. For the host Bulldogs, junior Jennifer Pascacio Perfecto finished 24th and Grant Union saw freshman Eliza Bailey cross the finish in 27th. Two spots behind, in 29th, was Four Rivers’ Lacatia Mason for the Falcons.
