PENDLETON – Dufur junior Tygh Timinsky carded a final score 80 to win the Nels Nelson Invitational golf tournament on Monday, April 7 on the course at the Wildhorse Resort.
Timinsky was five strokes better than La Grande senior Natasha Lane finishing with an 85. For the host team Buckaroos, Pendleton/Griswold junior Sophie Nelson placed fifth after shooting a 97.
Two teammates representing Baker/Powder Valley tied for seventh with both Lillyanna Wilson and Ashlyn Dalton taking a 102 for the 18 holes. Echo/Stanfield senior Denya Valle was the top Cougar, placing 15th after a score of 110.
Umatilla senior Alyssa Bow, with a 113, finished 18th as the top Viking.
The team title went to Hanford with a total stroke total of 397 followed by Pendleton/Griswold with a 420. One stroke back at 421, Baker/Powder Valley was third with La Grande picked up fourth with a 428. Dufur’s 444 score placed the Rangers fifth. Echo/Stanfield and Umatilla failed to qualify for a team score.
