CRANE – The Crane Mustangs completed a perfect season, including being crowned 1A State girls champions this past winter. Now, one of the leaders of the team, sophomore Kortney Doman has been named the 1A State Co-Player of the Year.

Doman joins Country Christian’s Elizabeth Grandle for the honor. The difference for 1A opponents across the state is Grandle will be walking the graduation line while Doman returns for the Mustangs for two more years.

Doman finds a familiar foe also named to first team as Jordan Valley senior Taylor Eiguren finishes her high school career with the honor.

The listing becomes a family affair as Crane junior Leslie Doman is named to the second team. Also named to second team is Nixyaawii junior Sophia Bronson and Echo senior Faith McCarty.

Eastern Oregon is again represented as Prairie City junior Betty Wilson is named to the third team.

Players named to the state’s honorable mention list included additional eastern Oregon players including South Wasco County junior Kylie Iverson, Jordan Valley senior Cassity Gluch and Trout Lake senior Wynsome Painter.

For his efforts on taking the Mustangs the distance, Crane coach Stub Travis picked up the Coach of the Year award.
