Crane’s Kaitlyn Siegner Keeps Player Of Year In House

John L. Braese

This basketball marks the final year Crane sophomore Kaitlyn Siegner will need to share with older brother and senior Cody-the brother and sister will no longer need to share the family vehicle, not fight over the last bit of milk in the jug and after this season, the duo will not share player of the year honors.

The younger Siegner was recently named the Player of the Year by the coaches of the 1A High Desert League. Brother Cody picked up the same honor on the boys’ side. Both listings were held frompublication until completion of the 1A state tournament.

In her final year of high school basketball, Jordan Valley senior Kenzie Tuttle picked up the award for Defensive Player of the Year for the league.

In addition to Siegner and Tuttle, a Locomotive and an Antelope joined two additional Jordan Valley players on first team honors. Huntington senior Emma Matthews closes out her final year on first team as does Adrian senior Addy Martin and Jordan Valley senior Meg Eiguren. The lone sophomore on the listing was Harper sophomore Lindsey Talbot and the lone junior named was Jordan Valley’s Jalee Maestrejuan.

Crane picked up three players on the second team including sophomore Kamryn Dunten, junior Ava Bowen and sophomore Emily Clark. Jordan Valley added a player, senior Claire Collins while Harper also added freshman Holly Rodriguez, one of only two freshmen named to all league. Four Rivers junior Ariel Martinez placed the Falcons on the listing.

Both Adrian and Crane again were seen on the list as Lope junior Peyton Kinkade and Crane senior Elaia Idota were placed on honorable mention. Prairie City ruled the honorable mention with freshman Rylee Workman, junior Bella Williams and senior Savannah Watterson placing the Panthers on the listing.
