PENDLETON – The Union/Cove Lady Bobcats are once again the 3A/2A/1A Special District 3 champions after the district teams gathered at Pendleton Community Park on Friday, 27 to determine not only the district title but also those runners heading to the state meet.

Union/Cove ended the day with 56 points while second-place Sisters came in with 67 points. Enterprise/Joseph/Wallowa was third and Heppner placed fourth with Burns rounding out the top five teams.

Heppner sophomore Lily Nichols was the lone runner to complete the course in under 19 minutes, winning the race in 18 minutes, 45.5 seconds. A Sisters runner was second followed by two Bobcats, Taylor Weishaar and Jose Patton with Vale sophomore Addie Saunders rounding out the top five.
