Big Sky tournament opens in Echo

The regular season has come to an end and it is time to determine a Big Sky League champion for volleyball.

The teams gather Saturday, October 26 at the new high school gym with the first match scheduled for 10 a.m.

The first match sees the home court Echo Cougars (10-2 league) welcome the Ione Cardinals (6-6 league). The Cougars were forced to go to five sets in the two teams’ first meeting before downing the Cardinals on September 26, but had an easier time of it, 3-1, on October 17.

Game two will take place 30 minutes after the completion of game one. Taking the court will be South Wasco (10-2 league) versus the Dufur Rangers (9-3 league). The Redsides won both meetings between the two teams this season.

The match for third place will occur 30 minutes after the completion of game two.

The match for the championship, winners of game one and two, hits the court 30 minutes after the ending of game three.
