Baker Volleyball Prepares For Estacada Play-In

BAKER – For the Baker volleyball team, the trip to Estacada on Tuesday, Oct. 29 is simple. Beat the Rangers in their home gym and it is on to the state 4A tournament. Fall on Tuesday and the season comes to an end. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.

After finishing the season with an 8-15 overall record, the Bulldogs concluded the 4A Greater Oregon League with a third-place finish. A five-game skid was halted by a home win over Ontario on Oct. 24, pushing the Bulldogs into the play-in scenario.

Estacada also finished third in the Tri-Valley Conference and ended the year 15-10 overall. The Rangers wrapped up the season on a three-game winning streak, taking the court for the final time with a victory over Madras on Oct. 22.

The two teams have been on the court with a few common opponents.

In tournament action, Estacada beat Astoria with Baker also taking down Astoria in tournament play. Both teams suffered shutout losses to The Dalles and both squads dropped their matches to Pendleton.
