ONTARIO – The Baker tennis team made the trip home from Ontario with a team win by the slimmest of margins on Monday, April 4. After a full afternoon of tennis action, the Bulldogs won over the Tigers, 6-5.
Baker won two of the three boys singles matches with Ontario taking two of the three boys double matches. The doubles action all went three sets.
Baker dominated the girls singles matches, winning both in straight sets. Again, Ontario was strong in the doubles, taking two of the three.
Boys Results
Boys first singles: Dallin Berg (Ontario) defeated Daniel Cunningham (Baker), 6-6 (4), 7-5. Boys second singles: Caleb Hills (Baker), defeated Jack Hally (Ontario), 6-3, 6-4. Boys third singles: Ashton LeTourneau (Baker), defeated Henry Garrett (Ontario), 6-4, 6-0.
Boys first doubles: Jared Hally and Eduardo Navarro-Ramirez (Ontario) defeated Ethan Hills and Jayden Yencopal (Baker), 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Boys second doubles: Pablo Ponce-Garcia and Bryan Alejandro-Munoz (Ontario), defeated Noah Lien and Weston Downing (Baker), 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Third boys doubles: Lincoln Nemec and Anthony Christopher Jr. (Baker), defeated Humberto Gonzalez and John Paul Barrido (Ontario), 4-6, 6-4, 11-9.
Girls Results
Girls first singles: Sarah Plumber (Baker), defeated Laken Herrera (Ontario), 6-4, 6-3. Girls second singles: Isabel Cunningham (Baker), defeated Samantha DeLeon (Ontario), 6-0, 6-1.
Girls first doubles: Maya Smith and Olivia Jacoby (Baker), defeated Paige Eidson and Abbigail Hally (Ontario), 6-0, 6-4. Girls second doubles: Erika Perez and Ogaly Santiago (Ontario) defeated Riley Shaw and Daphne Thomas (Baker), 6-0, 6-1. Girls third doubles: Maya Gomez-Meza and Cayman Campbell (Ontario), defeated Daphne Thomas and Maya Smith (Baker), 8-3.
