Baker/Powder Valley Boys Runner-Up At State Golf (Full Eastern Oregon Results)

BANKS – Led by an individual fourth-place finish by freshman Isaiah Jones, the Baker/Powder Valley boys golf team tied for second at the OSAA 4A golf tournament. Taking the course for two days at Quail Valley Golf Course, the tournament wrapped up Tuesday, May 17.

Banks grabbed the team title with a total 661 strokes while the Bulldogs and Valley Catholic both finished only three strokes back with a total of 664. The Tiger boys of La Grande finished the two-day tournament in eighth.

Jones was consistent over the two days, firing a 76 on the 18 holes both Monday and Tuesday for a 152 total. Tillamook junior Elliot Lee grabbed the individual medal after shooting a four-over-par 148.

Also placing in the top ten individual scores was Ontario junior Tyce Helmick, tied for ninth after compiling a 159- stroke total.
