ONTARIO – If the past shows anything, the upcoming 4A Greater Oregon League cross county district meet will see many Bulldogs leading the pack in the boys’ race.

Baker will join La Grande, Pendleton and host Ontario on the campus of Treasure Valley Community College on Friday, Oct. 28 to crown a district champion and decide qualifiers for the upcoming state meet. The boys take off the start line at 12:45 p.m.

The Bulldog boys currently hold the top seven times in the district standings led by senior Thaddeus Pepera and his time of 16 minutes, 17 seconds. Pepera’s competition for an individual title may well come from teammate and sophomore Daniel Brown with a season best of 16:37.8. Baker freshman William Spriet will need to up his game a bit to break the 17-minute mark and join his fellow Bulldogs with a season best of 17:18.1.

La Grande senior Caleb Murie will finish his high school district season coming into the race with the eighth fastest time this season. Tiger teammate and junior Landon Perry has the ninth quickest time.

Pendleton may see the future of the team as freshman Jack Reynolds holds down the number 10 spot in the season standings.
