BAKER – The Baker baseball team apparently had early dinner plans as the Bulldogs only needed five innings in both of two games, downing Greater Oregon League opponent, Ontario Tigers.
Game one saw the Dawgs put up seven runs in the second inning on the way to a 14-0 victory with the game ending after five innings.
Cole Hester recorded the perfect game with the bat, going 3-for-3 with 4RBIs. Logan Capon picked up two RBIs while hitting 2-for-2.
Silas Carter went the whole game for Baker from the mound, allowing three hits, no walks and striking out five Ontario batters.
For the Tigers, James Dyas went the full game, striking out five, but allowing 13 hits and walking three Bulldogs. Seth Iwasa did pick up two hits in the game.
Game two also went only five innings as Baker downed Ontario 11-1. Picking up from game one, the Bulldogs scored six runs in the first inning to start the game off quickly.
Cole Harris handled the pitching duties for the Tigers, allowing six hits and five walks while also striking out five Bulldogs. The Tigers also committed three errors.
Capon took in the pitching duties for Baker, striking out seven Tigers and allowing five hits.
Baker scattered the runs around with numerous batters picking up RBIs.
