ADRIAN – The Adrian volleyball team made the most of playing before the home crowd for the first time this year, downing 4A Ontario, 3-0 on Thursday, September 2.
With just seven players on the varsity squad, the Antelopes and Ontario Tigers both struggled with the serve in the early season matchup. In the early stages of game one, the two teams went back and forth. Tied at six points each, the Lopes begin to pull away, leading 21-18 late in the game. A kill shot by the Tigers went just past the boundary, handing the Antelopes at 25-19 win.
Game two proved to be all Antelopes with Adrian leading from the first serve. A service error on the final point by Ontario handed the win to Adrian, 25-12.
Game three was a mirror of game two with Adrian leading from the start and a service error by the Tigers giving the Lopes a 25-13 match win.
