A total of 13 1A eastern Oregon volleyball teams open a push towards a state title on Wednesday, Oct. 30. EOS takes a look at the first-round matchups.

#32 Crosspoint Christian at #1 Crane (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5:30 pm) – The Warriors of Crosspoint Christian picked up the final invitation to the state tournament after an 11-11 overall record and a third place showing in the Mountain Valley League. Crane, the top ranked team in the state, finished a 25-3 overall season record with a High Desert League title at the recent tournament.

#17 South Wasco County at #16 Triangle Lake (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6:30 pm) – This is the closest game of the tournament according to the seedings. The Redsides make the trip after a 21-10 year, placing third in the recent Big Sky tournament. Host Triangle Lake posts a 15-3 record and are champions of the Mountain West League.

#24 Adrian at #9 North Clackamas Christian (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5 pm) – After finishing third on Saturday in Jordan Valley at the High Desert League tournament, Adrian, 13-13 overall, makes the trip to North Clackamas Christian. The host Saints are riding a seven-game win streak including taking the Valley 10 League tournament to claim the league title.

#28 Sherman at #5 St. Paul (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm) – The Huskies wrapped up the season with a 13-14 overall record and a strong second-place showing at the Big Sky tournament in The Dalles. St. Paul will take their home court after a perfect 12-0 Casco League showing and a 20-7 overall record. The Buckaroos hope to extend a current eight-game win streak versus the Huskies.

#21 Elgin at #12 Glendale (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5 pm) – Elgin hits the road after finishing the year 13-9 in the Old Oregon League, a division that saw five teams qualify for the state tournament. Host Glendale wrapped up the year with a 14-7 showing, finishing sixth in the Skyline District but with a disappointing 0-2 showing at the district tournament.

#20 Rogue Valley Adventist Academy at #13 Cove (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm) – The Red Tail Hawks of Rouge Valley make the trip to Cove after placing fourth in the Mountain Valley League with a 15-6-1 record. The Leopards take their home court with a 23-10 showing for the season including a 1-3 showing at the Old Oregon tournament, good enough for fourth place in the league standings.

#29 Willamette Valley Christiaan at #4 Imbler (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm) – Coming out of the Casco League, Willamette Valley Christian finished third in the league standings with a 15-6 overall record. Imbler hosts riding a championship in the Old Oregon League after taking down both Powder Valley and Union in tournament action and wrapped up the season with a 26-7 overall record.

#30 Mohawk at #3 Union (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm) – Mohawk grabbed a chance at a state title after finishing second in the Mountain West League with a 15-11 overall record with the Mustangs splitting their league playoffs with a 1-1 record. Union fell to Imbler in five sets in the championship game of the Old Oregon League, pushing their record to 20-7 overall for the year.  

#19 Spray/Mitchell/Wheeler at #14 Powers (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5 pm) – Finishing fourth in the Big Sky League standings, the 21-10 Rattlers are on the road looking to break out of a three-game skid to end the year. Host Powers posts a 13-4 overall record but dropped a league playoff match to New Hope Christian on their last court appearance.

#26 Jordan Valley at #7 Powder Valley (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5:30 pm) – High Desert on the road to Old Oregon with the Badgers downing the Mustangs to open the season back on Aug. 30 at the Culver Tournament. Jordan Valley finished the season 1-2 for the High Desert tournament and a 15-11 overall record. Host Powder Valley picked up third place in the Old Oregon League with a 2-1 record at the league tournament resulting in a 23-7 overall record.

#23 Southwest Christian at #10 Prairie City/Burnt River (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm) – Southwest Christian makes a long drive after an 18-9 overall record and third place in the Valley 10 League. Prairie City/Burnt River, 19-7 overall, settled for second at the recent High Desert tournament after falling to top seeded Crane in the finals.

#18 Elkton at #15 Ione/Arlington (Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6 pm at Ione High School) – Finishing the season with a 14-5 overall record and fourth place in the Skyline League, Elkton makes the trip to Ione High School. The Cardinals, 23-7 overall, host riding a four-game win streak that includes not losing a set, going 11-0 since Oct. 19 and making quick work of the Big Sky tournament.
