18 Eastern Oregon Softballers Find All 3A State Honors

Jamieson Produce is an onion packing shed located in Vale, Oregon that packs and ships onions across the United States 12 months of the year. It has been in operation for nearly 40 years and currently employees about 50 people. Over the years our business has grown and to date we pack and ship over 100 million pounds of onions each year. We appreciate the quality onions our growers provide and the hard work our employees do every day. Jamieson Produce is owned by Doug and Terrie Maag and managed by Jeff Stubbs.

Y-1 Farms is located in Jamieson, Oregon and is owned by Doug and Terrie Maag and Corey and Mandi Maag. Various row crops such as onions, sugar beets, silage corn, alfalfa, and wheat are grown on nearly 2000 acres. The feed crops are used to provide feed for the feedlot they operate. Up to 12,000 head of cattle can be fed at Y-1 Farms. Y-1 Farms was established in 1985 but the Maag Family was farming before that. Doug farmed with his father, Warner Maag, for several years prior before purchasing his own farm. Y-1 Farms employs about 20 full-time employees to assist in operating the farm. We are extremely grateful for our employees and the hard work they provide.

High school softball fans do not have far to look to find a local all-state player as 18 players were named to the recently released all-state listing.

Both the Burns Hilanders and Lakeview Honkers each named five players to all-state honors.

For Burns, senior Gracie Mello closed out her high school career with an honorable mention nod as catcher. Also not returning after graduating, Skyla Samples picked up third team outfield honors. The third senior not being seen on the field next year will be Bailey Temple, an honorable mention infield pick. Jocelyn Graham will enter her senior year as a second team outfielder. Also hitting the field next spring will be Cara Goss-Bodily, a third team infielder.

After picking up honorable mention on the state listing, Kami Vance will be back on the mound for her senior year for Lakeview, the reigning 3A Southern Oregon Conference champions, in the spring. Also back for her final year in the spring, Addie Holderman picked up third team infield honors. The third senior on the field next season will be Ashlynn Shullanberger, a utility honorable mention player. Graduate Eliana Hansen ended her career for the Honkers as a third team selection in the outfield. Lakeview graduate Raven McLain picked up honorable mention honors as a infielder.

After taking the season title in the 3A Special District 2, Vale named four players to the all-state roster. Just a sophomore last season, Grace Chamberlain will be back for pitching duties for the Vikings as a third team pick. Also returning as just completing her first year on the high school softball field, freshman Sadie Blake picked up honorable mention for the outfield. The returning infield appears strong for the Vikings as Vale will see Bailey Blake returning for her senior year as a first team honoree and Braelyn Keller, a third team honoree in just her freshman year last season.

McLoughlin will need to replace an outgoing Aisling Giguiere, their honorable mention first basemen but now a graduate. Returning for the Pioneers will be senior-to-be Addy Leonetti, their utility player named to honorable mention.

Nyssa enters next season with their pitcher set as sophomore Addie Cleaver was chosen to the second team.

Behind the plate, La Pine will also see the return of an all-state player as catcher Jade Seymour is back for her senior year after seeing third team honors.
