LA GRANDE – The La Grande girls’ golf team had a busy start to the week. After grabbing the team title on Monday, April 21 in Baker, it was back home to the home course of the La Grande Country Club on Tuesday, April 22 for the La Grande Girls Invite. Playing in Baker or in La Grande does not appear to matter as the Tigers took their second team title in two days, winning their home tournament.
La Grande ended the day with a 393 total, 20 strokes better than second place Baker/Powder Valley’s 414. Pendleton/Griswold picked up third with Enterprise taking fourth. Union/Cove/Imbler, Echo/Stanfield and Umatilla was also in attendance but failed to qualify for a team score.
The Tigers picked up the top three scores for the tournament led by champion and senior Natasha Lane’s 85. Fellow senior Oleysa Forbes placed second 10 strokes back at 95 while junior Maylie Eby’s 99 was third.
Baker/Powder Valley’s Lillyanna Wilson was the top Bulldog, finishing third while tying Eby’s 99 with Echo/Stanfield junior Jacee James rounding out the top five after carding a 101.
Enterprise’s top score went to senior Kimber Stein with a 104, an eighth place showing. Pendleton/Griswold junior Brinley Curtiss cracked the top ten, placing ninth with a 104.
Umatilla senior Alyssa Bow was the top Viking at 14th with a 108.
